Within the realm of
fallen earth
where sin and evil reign
unseen forces retain the power
to form malevolent gain

by temptation through subtle lust
enticement of the mind
man can fall from the grace of God
and leave his state behind

to run from God seeking release
from God’s own will and rule
exercising one’s own power
of self-will of a fool
____
shall bring a quick chastisement
a love that won’t let go
the blood that saved this wayward saint
our Lord and Christ will show
____
effective means to turn around
the folly of a fool
a loving hand to guide that’s strong
and never one that’s cruel
____
where brokenness again shall come
contrition of great depth
shall turn a soul unto a path
which leads from certain death
____
and there the grace of God shall be
as loving as before
much wiser a forgiven fool
God’s love can thus restore
